17 people shot in downtown Milwaukee Friday night
MILWAUKEE— 17 people were shot and injured on Water St. in downtown Milwaukee Friday night after the Milwaukee Bucks playoff game, according to Milwaukee Police.
It happened just after 11:00 pm near the 1100 block of N. Water St., just blocks away from Fiserv Forum and Milwaukee’s Deer District, according to a media release.
Police said there were 17 victims ages ranging from 15 to 47 years of age.
10 people are in custody and nine firearms were caught regarding this incident. All of the shooting victims are expected to survive.
Authorities have not released any information about the victims or what they believed led to the shooting.
It comes just hours after Milwaukee police say three people were shot in the 1100 block of MLK Drive and Highland Avenue following the Bucks game in Milwaukee.
The victims were a 29-year-old male, a 16-year-old female and a 26-year-old male. A 19-year-old male suspect was taken into custody. All three victims are expected to survive as well.
